Just the way the guy looks in the video snapshot is an indication of what kind of message he's pushing - crazy!

Remember The Green Song Books
by new boy inthen new and improved purple song books that came out in 1966. then there was the brown song book and a even newer one in 2006. .
thousands of hours wasted singing those stupid songs and their stupid lyrics.. song 106 "watch how we walk and watch we talk.
i remember inserting different works in the lyrics to relive the boredom.

I remember the green one.
Take my silver and my gold, nothing lord would I withhold....
Not sure if this is the green one, but it had just a lot of repetition.
To the work, to the work oh you servants of God mmm mmm let follow the work that our master has trod..... Hastening on, Hastening on, Hastening on, Hastening on, Hastening on, Hastening on and going till the work is done.
Really wanted us to hasten on....

Almost 90% of the pictures are lifted from other sources. The crappy ones are made by the "artist" of the WT. Like all of the earth being made ones.
It's hilarious how pictures showing the nephilum takes place in a building that looks Italian, early bible characters are in Renaissance clothing. Especially funny is the picture of "Adam idealized" because he looks and dresses renaissance and it is the same picture that is used for Jesus later on (with a little tweaking)

Me and my sister went thru the pictures. Such Nudity! Such Lies! Such outright nonsense! My favorite was the belief of rings around the earth. Did you know that when the volcanic rock the earth is made of was hot, it pushed water and minerals into the atmosphere and became a "ring" around the earth? When the earth cooled, the centrifical force pulled it back to the earth..?
There was also a nice illustration of a flying pyramid with I think, God at the top.
You could also get a free lapel pin that showed you were a pax supporter. If you wore it you could get a discount on a bible so instead of $5 you payed $1.18 for it.
And did you know that the I.B.S.A. was there in the first congregations? Yes, they even have a picture of that! (IBSA - international bible students association)

Evidence of a form of telepathy, science and personal experiences.
by Bad_Wolf ini believe in rational explanations for everything, whether they are understood yet or not.
medication used to be considered 'magic' until understood how it worked.
on the subject of telepathy, for me it's very subtle but has happened many times.

When I was young, I had a boyfriend. There were random times I would suddenly stop and think that he was going to call. Within a minute he would. It was only with him that would happen. It would always freak him out when I answered Hi Jack.
Another boyfriend I had who was very smart, had an even smarter friend. The army even was trying to get him to come work with them (instead of being a ski bum) He talked with his friend about particles. How it was possible for one to split and still have the same information. It's been a long time since I thought of it so I am afraid it's a little on the short side of info but that is the gist.
I do think there is more that is known but there is also a lot of quackery.

Was this the year they showed on the Awake, Indians, Catholics etc having a big pray in? They always have an excuse for what is really going on. Even tho there wasn't true "peace and security" going on in the world, they said it was because it was in the minds of the governments that they had achieved it.

Just peeking in for a bit...
by Jidders ini rather apprehensively would like to say hello.. i've been raised somewhat in the truth, one of my parents is rather rather strong in the beliefs but could honestly be considered pomi with how active they are and their side of the family comes from a line of witnesses, the other parent was but faded a long time ago.
as such i was taught quite a bit of jw teachings between family and off and on again bible studies.
recently i had a serious emotional break down over a few months after said pomi parent had advised me that they would not attend my wedding should that day come (i also had recieved a text from my bible teacher i hadnt heard from in a year or two giving a scripture) and it sorta all sank on me that my activity over the last few years was not really jw material.

You are a brave person and honest to look at the truth of things, that might change your view of the world. When I found out that the Jehovahs Witnesses religion was untruthful, I remembered a book written by George Orwell called "Animal Farm" It describes a situation that could be found in any government or movement/religion. It mirrors what this religion does, how it changes it rules and teachings - and makes the followers feel like they never do enough and are to blame for any failures.
I had read that book in high school but never realized how it explained exactly what was going on in this religion. Because of course, it was "the truth" and they would never lie or do something wrong. I know better now. At least you are in your 30's and can do something for your future.

Just a youtube comment on JW's and how they are users.
by days of future passed ini was watching a youtube about "sovereign citizens" - the ones that quote confederate law and say they don't need a driving license because they are just "traveling" the man who was pulled over for having the wrong license plates on his car and then refusing to hand over any id, eventually was encouraged out of his vehicle by a police dog.. in the comments below was this:.
even dumber is the sovereign citizen shit is up here in canada... the most liberal country in north america...these guys just want a free ride.
not only that but certain religious groups also like to pull this... jehova's witness reformed mormon groups, branch davidians and others all claim to not be a citizen of usa or canada... but continue to use our services.. fringe groups of all types are not really desirable... and potential dangerous.

I couldn't tell if the poster was an ex jw or they didn't like religion in general. But I do know of Jw's that have skirted the law in business.

I would agree that much of US media is biassed one way or another... but some other nations have more objective reporting... The USA has a long history of yellow journalism and other stuff... so yep. You will never see a newspaper in Canada endorsing a political candidate... it doesn't happen here.Being lumped into the Sovereign Citizen's group I think is appropriate. I remember talks about taxes and why we should pay them. (guess some people didn't) Yet the WT gets away with being a "Charity Status" The Sovereigners should take a lesson from the WT and declare themselves "traveling ministers" -

Anti vaccines
by blisterfeet ini personally feel that vaccinations are beneficial.
there has been a modern movement that vaccinations are more harmful than beneficial to which i disagree.
what is your stance as an ex jw on vaccinating your children?
-
days of future passed
The JW lady at work is anti vac but she doesn't have children. I got the sugar cube with the polio vac when I was in school. And supposedly, Europe has better vacs than the USA because they aren't afraid of people suing the companies like they are in america.
Until I watched a show on small pox and how it can even make pustules in the lining of your brain, I didn't think of it as worse than the chicken pox. It's a painful and horrible way to die and if people refused to take the vacs for it, we would still have people dying of it in mass.
I said as much to the JW lady at work.
